Environment & recycling — evidence a procurement auditor can tick

Western buyers increasingly require it by contract; Indian law now requires it by rule; and this company practised it before either, because the founder built clean processes into Microtex from 1969. This page is written for the auditor: registrations, certificates and programmes, stated precisely, with numbers.

CPCB EPR Registration № 11041053  —  ISO 14001 : 2015 certified  —  5,100+ trees planted since 2017  —  Clean processes since 1969

The registrations, precisely

Battery Waste ManagementRegistered Producer under Rule 4 of India’s Battery Waste Management Rules 2022 — Central Pollution Control Board Registration № 11041053, issued 18.06.2024, valid five years. Obligations honoured include annual returns and the absolute conditions the rules impose: no landfilling, no incineration of battery waste.
Environmental managementISO 14001:2015 — certificate GR23-301589 (UAF-accredited registrar), scope: design, manufacture, supply and service of batteries and components.
The product itselfThe lead-acid battery is among the most recycled industrial products on earth — 99% of the lead is recovered, and the alloys and plastics re-enter manufacture rather than landfill. Our EPR registration is that circularity made enforceable.

Cradle to grave, in practice

A battery leaves our works with its end already planned. Under our EPR obligations, used batteries flow back through authorised channels for recycling — never to landfill, never to incineration — and the recovered lead re-enters the industry’s material cycle. Inside the plant, ISO 14001 disciplines govern how we handle materials, effluents and waste; the founder’s rule — clean processes are not optional — predates every certificate on this page.

A tree with every traction battery

Since 2017, Microtex has planted a tree sapling with every traction battery sold in India — over 5,100 trees so far, one battery at a time. It is not a carbon claim and we do not dress it as one; it is a habit of giving something living back with every working machine we power, and we are glad of every single trunk.

For vendor-qualification teams

If you are qualifying Microtex as a supplier: certificate copies, registration details and our environmental policy are supplied with tender documentation on request — state the requirement in your enquiry and the pack returns the same working day. Plant audits are welcome; the factory in Peenya is open to serious customers, and what this page claims can be walked and inspected.

Do you take back used batteries?

Yes — as a registered Producer under the Battery Waste Management Rules 2022, collection and channelling of used batteries into authorised recycling is our legal obligation and our practice. Ask your Microtex contact for the take-back route for your location and volume.

Can you satisfy our contractual recycling-evidence requirements?

That is what this page exists for: EPR registration number, ISO 14001 certificate, policy documents and channel evidence, supplied in writing for your audit file. If your questionnaire needs a format of its own, send it — completed questionnaires are part of our tender routine.
