Forklift battery — sized to your truck, built for the third year
Every forklift battery looks fine at delivery; the difference shows in year three, in the charging room. Microtex builds forklift batteries on European-class tubular plates — 2V cells in DIN and BS dimensions, assembled into trays to your truck’s compartment — capacity-tested at CPRI and backed by charging guidance that keeps warranty arguments from ever starting.

Buying a forklift battery — the three things that actually matter
1 · Fit and weight. The compartment fixes the cell standard (DIN or BS) and the tray dimensions — and in a counterbalance truck the battery is also the ballast, so minimum weight is a specification, not a suggestion. Send the truck model or nameplate; we confirm fit in the quotation.
2 · Honest capacity. Compare at the five-hour rate (C5) — the rate motive duty actually draws, and the rate our CPRI tests certify. A battery flattered by its 20-hour rating will disappoint by lunch.
3 · The charging room. Batteries rarely die of work; they die of charging — wrong finish, chronic undercharge, water added at the wrong time, heat. Our proposals arrive with the charging and watering discipline attached, and our engineers will talk to your charger supplier before the first shift, not after the first claim.

Questions fleet managers ask us
How long does a forklift battery last?
The honest answer: it depends on depth of discharge per shift, charge quality, watering and heat — the same battery can live twice as long in a disciplined charging room. Send your shift pattern and charger details and we will state a life expectation for your duty, in writing, instead of a brochure number.
Is opportunity charging acceptable?
Sometimes — and ruinous at other times. Done knowingly (right charger, right windows, temperature watched), it can serve multi-shift operations; done casually it murders batteries. If your operation needs opportunity charging, say so in the enquiry: we will engineer for it rather than object to it later.
When and how should the battery be watered?
At the END of charge, never before it — levels rise during charging and an overfilled cell pushes acid out, inviting tracking, corrosion and worse. Clean demineralised water only. The full watering round is in our manual, one page long, and it is the cheapest life-extension your fleet will ever buy.
Can you match my truck’s existing battery?
Photograph the old nameplate and the compartment, note the truck model, and send both through the enquiry form — that is everything needed for a same-working-day reply with dimensions, weight and price.
Do you supply chargers as well?
We supply the charging specification with every battery, and can advise on or supply charging equipment matched to the bank — ask in the enquiry. A right-sized charger is half the battery’s life.
