MUV & scoop batteries — the LIMITLESS pack for underground vehicles
A multi-utility vehicle works the mine’s worst geometry — uneven floors, tight headings, full shifts — on battery power alone. The Microtex LIMITLESS pack — formally, a vented lead-acid increased-safety traction battery pack — was engineered for exactly that machine: 240 V, 1188 Ah of European-class tubular cells in a steel tray built like the vehicle itself, matched to its own mining-duty charger.
240 V · 1188 Ah pack — European-class tubular cells — Pack + matched charger system — Engineered per mine, not per catalogue
Designed from the mine up
This pack did not begin as a catalogue product with a mining sticker. It began underground — with our engineers studying where existing batteries were failing on real machines — and every requirement travelled up from there: acid containment on floors that are never level; connections and cell restraint built for a machine that vibrates all shift; electrolyte density chosen for the mine’s true operating temperature, not the laboratory’s; and a charge that finishes clean in a ventilation-budgeted bay.
The cells are our own tubular construction — the deep-cycle chemistry explained on the technology page — with electrolyte set at 1.260 specific gravity, chosen for the 35–40 °C reality of a working mine rather than the textbook’s 1.280: less corrosion, longer life, engineered honesty. Assembled into a tray built as part of the vehicle: lifting points, restraint, covers and instrumentation designed for the pit, not the showroom.

The system: pack, charger, records
Underground batteries die in charging bays more often than on machines — so the LIMITLESS pack ships as a system with its matched mining-duty charger: profile-controlled charging that finishes without needless gassing, manages acid stratification deliberately, and logs ampere-hours returned with time records the mine can audit. One supplier, one warranty conversation, no gap between battery and charger for blame to live in.

Questions mine engineers ask us
Can the pack be engineered for our vehicle, not just this one?
Yes — 240 V/1188 Ah is a configuration, not a limit. Send the vehicle type, battery-box dimensions, duty cycle and mine conditions; the pack is engineered to the machine, and the charger specification follows the pack.
What about hazardous-area classification and statutory certification?
We answer this precisely or not at all. This pack is a vented lead-acid increased-safety traction battery pack — not a flameproof product, and we will never blur that distinction, because the two protection concepts exist for different risks. Certification regimes differ by country and mine classification, and a certificate waved at the wrong duty protects nobody. State your jurisdiction and mine type in the enquiry — the current, exact certification position comes back in writing.
What does the mine need to provide in the charging bay?
Mains supply to the charger’s specification, ventilation per your mine’s rules, and the discipline the commissioning visit teaches: watering at end of charge, records kept, temperature watched. The charger’s own logs make the discipline auditable rather than aspirational.
How do replacement packs for existing MUV fleets work?
Send the machine model, the old pack’s nameplate photo, box dimensions and the duty cycle. We engineer to the box — including for fleets whose original battery supplier has lost interest — and quote with delivery dates, commissioning support included.
