Railway batteries — bred on the world’s hardest railway

Indian Railways is the most demanding battery customer imaginable: heat, dust, vibration, and schedules that forgive nothing. Microtex has supplied railway batteries for decades — signalling, coach, locomotive and substation duties — and that pedigree travels: our diesel-starter batteries now serve locomotive fleets in South America.

What railway duty taught us

Railways buy batteries the way engineers should: to specification, against documentation, with consequences. Decades of that discipline shaped how Microtex builds everything — the tubular plates, the documentation habits, the respect for vibration and heat — and it is why railway-bred products travel so well into mining and industrial duty. The construction story is on the technology page; for tenders, our documentation packs carry the test reports and records your procurement rules expect.

Questions railway buyers ask us

Do you supply against railway specifications and tenders?

Yes — supply to railway specifications with the documentation trail tenders demand is the heritage of this house. Send the specification or tender annexure with your enquiry and the compliance statement returns with the quotation.

Can you replace batteries on older rolling stock and installations?

Routinely — nameplate photo, battery-box dimensions and the duty, and we engineer to the box. Fleets outlive their original battery suppliers; the batteries shouldn’t be the reason they stop.

Do you export railway batteries?

Yes — South American locomotive fleets are regular customers, and export packing and documentation are standard. Quotations in English or Spanish.
